What was it with the "e" on the end of everything.
Anyhow, to segue from Max's posts "what were they looking at" and "derelict building" here are some shots I took out there. Click on any of them to enlarge
The purpose of this stop was to get pictures of Mrs' SE-R with an interesting background. I like the way this picture looks, with the horizon line of the shore lining up with the line on the buiding, almost makes it look like the shoreline is part of the building
Here is a picture of the same perspective only sans car.
I really like the way this picture of the train car looked.
It was disappointing to Mrs to find this train was not going to go to paradise.
All of these shots were taken April of 2009, it is interesting to compare the walls of these next two shots to photos Max posted in his "what were they looking at" post, you have to take a moment to figure out the perspective, but once you do you can see a lot of painting has happened in that time.
These are just some other shots I like of the area, enjoy.

Favorite pics pt1
Yeah, the kitchen has had us so busy that I have not had time to join in the favorites TP.
Gonna start this off with our trip to Puerto Vallarta. This is one of two vacations that have brought together two families, mine and Mrs, all for five days. This trip included me, Mrs, big trouble and little trouble, both of my brothers, my oldest brother's wife and daughter, and then Mrs mom, two sisters, brother, his wife and daughter. All this made for some interesting dynamics. We will do one like this again.
This is of me and little trouble, and Max and big trouble, nothing like the beach in November. I didn't mention, we did this over Thanksgiving holiday.
This is me and Little Trouble
This is a big trouble hanging out with his uncle, Mrs brother, learning how a tripod works.
I like the way this ship looks across the water in this one
Here is big trouble wearing Mrs sunglasses.
While there we got this drink, the last group of shots of it. It was more about the show than the actual drink on this one, but I like the way the flame looks.

There be kitchen sir.
Well, it’s final, the countertops are FINALLY in. We have a new kitchen. Here are the pictures, first set is the old kitchen and living room, then you have before countertops and after countertops. It is soooo nice to actually use the kitchen. We still have the finishing touches to put in, but we can cook, clean, and even sit at the bar and enjoy. Six months of construction is coming to a close.

Whether you like the weather.
Strange morning in Utah. This morning I got up early, wanted to hit Home Depot at 6:00 when they opened to get some plumbing parts I needed for a project I wasn't able to finish last night. When I go to leave there is about 1/2" of snow on the car and it is snowing hard with big snowflakes, the roads are covered. When I get to Home Depot, about 2 miles and 10 minutes later one of the workers there said "Wow, it's like it is snowing snowballs. When we came in this morning it was just light rain." I went in, got my shopping done, and when I came out it was still snowing but not as hard, and the snowflakes were much smaller. By the time I got home around 6:30 it was light rain again.
Yeah, welcome to Utah, where December 22, it started as light rain, changed to heavy snow leaving an inch behind, and went back to light snow, all between 5:00am and 7:00am.
Welcome to the second day of winter.

Thematic Photo - Family
Family has always been big for me, I grew up on the east coast around so many relatives that our family tree could be printed into a book. Well, actually it has been. My paternal grandmother was the oldest of nine, seven of which went on to have children of their own. Now I sit here myself a parent of two very fun and active boys. They sure keep me moving. Last night we hung out and watched "Despicable Me" together, quite a funny movie, and a great family night for us, we all had a great time.
Since I don't really take many portraits as it is, and even less of myself, I dug up a picture somebody else had taken. This was taken at the local amusement park called Lagoon, they have an area called Pioneer Village which brings you back to the mid 1800s supposedly. They have all the old shops, most you can't get in, but the ice cream shop is a popular stop. They have the log flume ride there, and have done these little western shootout plays in the middle of the street there, I don't know if they still do them though. They also have an old photo shop where you can get a picture of yourself dressed up in era clothing. It can be a lot of fun, I've done this twice, once with a bunch of friends where we made the entire shop speechless, but I will leave that story up to my brother, Max, who was also there, and just this last year with my wonderful wife and boys. They let you do several poses, this one is my favorite.

Such the sunrise and other random pictures.
This is a group of random pictures I have taken recently. First set, when I walked out yesterday morning the sunrise was magnificent so I had to get some shots, I have been carrying around my point and shoot camera lately since the D-SLR is big and bulky, but then decided I wanted comparison shots. Pictures 1 through 4 are with the point and shoot, pictures 5 and 6 are with the D-SLR and then 7 and 8 are with the point and shoot and 9 and 10 are with the D-SLR. See if you can tell the difference, I did try to match aperture and shutter speed.
The next pictures are of a wall on my way to work, apparently somebody drove into this wall, I am still trying to figure out how, if you look at the first picture you will see that hole is nowhere near any intersection or driveway or anything. There is nothing across the street they could have come out of, so I am confused, but at least the owners of the house took advantage of the damage and now have a nice little holiday scene set out.
I thought the Volvo XC-90 did a very creative parking job. I am used to seeing jacked up pickups and SUVs doing this, but not so much your mild mannered nice new Volvo.
