Wet? Thematic Photo 129

Over the holidays I kept a fire burning in a fire pit I have in the back yard.  I have found from previous winter fires I have burned that an interesting phenomenon occurs with the snow.  The snow melts in an odd way, leaving minuscule crevasses in the snow.

I've always been fascinated by the way the campfires up at the land did just that to the snow. Cool pictures.

Nice photos, especially the second to last appears like what could be frozen waves! Awesome!

I have to say, it is difficult to capture the texture of snow like that.

You're so right: I've always struggled with snow pictures, as the texture never comes out how my mind's eye thinks it should.

You, on the other hand, nailed it. Can I hang out with you the next time you head out to grab snow photos?

Sure, anytime Carmi. I may go up to our land this Saturday, come join.
