Black and White TP #123

I love the theme, unfortunately unlike Max, I don't have my archived black and whites scanned, I wish I could have posted the B&W photos of the burned out school, but instead I will just post ones I have edited to be.  Looking through my photos this evening and editing them for b&w has been fun.  You can't just pick any photo and turn it b&w, some photos have no place being b&w.
I selected a few that I felt deserved the special attention of b&w which I will try to blog throughout the week.  I am going to save the ones I feel are best for last.
Today's theme is the cars.  The first one is a location on the foothills of Salt Lake City.  This was taken of my wife's SE-R at night, with the reflection of the city lights through this building's window.

The second is a simple piece of ice I noticed that had frozen on the window on our van, but take careful note of that piece of ice, there is something that makes it interesting.

The last one is of the front right of our Cougar, I like the  way you get a great view of the walking cat.

I would like to thank Carmi of Written Inc for creating this opportunity to share my photography in this manner.

I love Cougars! Nice shot of it too. Not too sure about the ice chunk, it looks like a photo of a flame rising above it. Care to share the answer? I can relate to the scanning in and having fun. I dug out my old photo book that goes to my first pixs ever taken, and it was great fun looking back!

I'm trying to figure out what's special about the ice. It kind of looks like a dragon trying to escape. It also looks like it is above the glass, and not actually on it.
Great pictures.

It was interesting because the ice was only on the glass at the top, the bottom is about 1 cm away from the glass (I will show a side shot next post).
Karen, we really like that Cougar, Mrs decided we needed a car to restore, this one is the end result, it is red for the record.

Marie, I hope your weekend is good too.

It's funny how I hadn't really given Ford's decision to axe the Mercury brand much thought until I saw your last photo here. What a great detail of the front end! I kinda miss the covered headlights...they were such a special design aspect from that era, and remain very distinctive and powerful today.

I like how you capture the extraordinary in the seemingly ordinary. You parallel my photographic philosophy, which largely explains why I enjoy your work so much!

I agree, Carmi, owning a Mercury I was disappointed when they were going to get rid of the mid line Mercury division.
The other car division I found was a loss was Oldsmobile, not as much for bland cars they produced, 442 excepted, but for the fact that they were the oldest production car company to my knowledge.

Thank you for your comments.
