Thematic Photo #124.

For as long as I can remember there has been some kind of family picnic - reunion every year around Boston, MA where I originally hail from.  A couple years ago we went back there for the reunion and had a great time in spite of the rain.  The next year we did a reunion in Salt Lake and thought it would be cool to set up bocce ball in the yard of the park.  It was a lot of fun and a good place to play it.  I didn't feel it would do justice just posting one picture, the action makes the set.

Cool live color and action quite candid!

I'm glad you shared the whole series, too. I enjoyed working my way through them, following the ball's trajectory, then going back to focus on the players. Who says still photos aren't dynamic?

I also love how you used significant distance to more strongly frame the event. Others might have crowded the shot or imposed themselves on the activity. Instead, you hung back and let it play out on its own accord. Tres cool, that.

Love the pictures, I remember that day well.
BTW - the link in your comment on Carmi's page isn't working. Had that same problem, that's why I had to delete my first post.

Love how the two figues each side of the player barely move their body and the focus figure goes through the motions! Great series of shots!
